James Burdin, Caleb Albrecht & Chris Pallamountagne played a big part in the ACT AAA team securing a third place finish in the Nationals Under 18 Tournament just held in Geelong. On the way to their historic finish the ACT beat some big names with wins over South Australia (twice), Queensland and Victoria. Congratulations to the whole ACT Squad. Statistics

Annual mid-season Baseball All –Star games Narrabundah Wed 16th

Tomorrow evening, a mid-season Baseball tradition continues at the Narrabundah Baseball Park, with the annual All Star game classics in both the Women’s League and the Men’s A Grade competition.

The Women’s game sees the best performers in this first half of the season from all 6 local Clubs competing in an East vs West game, commencing at 6:15 pm until 7:45 pm.  Mark Jensen, last year’s premiership women’s coach with the RebelsBaseball Club, will look after the East’s squad with the assistance of Sean Emmett, from perennial women’s finalists, the Ainslie- Gunghalin Bears. Newcomers in this season’s Women’s competition, from the Vikings Baseball Club, will form the 3rd team in the East’s combination, with the players from each Club as follows:

· Vikings – Tarryn Albrecht and Zara Warne

· Rebels - Carly Jensen,(last season’s Women’s Most Valuable Player), Ella Jensen, Samantha Tazreiter, Lisa Klynnyk and Jacqui Brittain

· Bears - Eliza Russell, Amy Vickers, Illahna Aitchison, Ashleigh Stephens, Alison Lound, Georgina Williams, Symonne Chapman, Julie Wainwright and Kate Russell.

For the Wests team, players are competing from powerhouse Women’s teams from the Bandits and the Weston CreekIndians Baseball Clubs, together with the Eagles Baseball Club’s best. The team will be coached by Indians stalwart Trevor Elliot, with the assistance of Matt Talbott from Bandits.  The players in the West’s combination are as follows:

· Eagles – Alyssa Webb and Tennille Broomfield

· Indians – Natalie Walker, Kahri Bain and Daphne Bain

· Bandits - Tara Ahern, Sarah Tandy, Tabitha Gerstenberg, Linda Harvey, Clare Daly, Cecilia Tran, Esther Lam and Kirily Anderson

The Men’s game also will see the best performers in this first half of the season from all 6 local Clubs competing in a North Vs South game, commencing at 8pm until 10pm.  The North side will be looked after by last year’s A grade premiership coach, Tom Vincent from Bandits, with players from not only that strong team, but A Grade Grand finalists Bears, together with theRebels, as follows:

· Rebels – Conor Casey, Leigh Morgan, Kyle Perkins and Mitch Waddell;

· Bears – Nolan Nicholson, Eric Scriven, Sean Williams and Aaron Tritton; and

· Bandits – Chris Kimpton, Nick Kimpton, Hayden Beard (last season’s joint A Grade Most Valuable player), Michael Collins and Luke Jennings

For the South’s team, players are drawn from this season’s current A Grade competition leaders, Indians, with perennial finalists Eagles, together with the Vikings. The team will be coached by the Baseball Academy of Sport head Coach, Brent Phelan, with the assistance of coaches Dan Bradley from Indians and Barry Barnes from Eagles.  Players from the 3 teams are as follows:

· Eagles – Ben Dries, Josh Matavesi, John Allender and David Fisher

· Indians – Chris Morgan (last season’s joint A Grade Most Valuable player), Erik Lindgren, Tim Sabadin,  Aaron Sloan and Jude Power; and

· Vikings – Chris Slack, Caleb Albrecht, and James Burdin

Trivia Night A Huge Success

The Vikings Baseball Clubs Trivia night held at the Erindale Sports Club was a huge success with everyone joining in the fun. Josh Campbell lead his “Little League” team to a hard fought victory taking out the major prizes.
